HOW DOES A SPRAY TAN WORK?
The active ingredient is dihydroxyacetone (known as DHA) which causes a chemical reaction with the amino acids of the outer layer of the skin. This reaction causes the colour of the skin to change producing a beautiful natural looking tan. DHA starts to react with the skin within 2 hrs of the tan application and continues to do so for a total of 12 hrs. The spray gun is used to spray a combination of air and tanning solution directly onto the skin which dries almost immediately. In just 15 minutes you can have a flawless tan that will develop over the next 8 hours. NOTE: ALWAYS WEAR SUN PROTECTION AS THE SPRAY TAN SOLUTION DOES NOT PROVIDE PROTECTION FROM THE HARMFUL UV RAYS FROM THE SUN!!
TANNING TIPS
BEFORE YOUR TAN
You need to exfoliate well all over at least 8 hours before your tan to get rid of any dead skin cells. Any shaving/waxing needs to be done also at least 8 hours before the tan to allow your pores time to close.
You need to moisturise the day before the tan especially on your knees, elbows, ankles and wrists to avoid the tan sticking to these areas and creating a darker look. |

DAY OF YOUR TAN
Remove any make-up, deodorants, perfumes, lotions before aplication. If these are not removed it can cause streaking/uneven tones. Don't shower/bath for at least 2 hours before being sprayed.
AFTER THE TAN
Wear loose clothing for at least 6-8 hours
Avoid sweating for at least 6-8 hours ie no swimming or exercising
Wait 6-8 hours before showering/bathing (if using the 2 hour tan you caan shower after 2 hours)
Once out of the shower pat yourself dry lightly, DO NOT RUB YOUR SKIN
Preferably wear loose dark clothing
TAN MAINTENANCE
Moisturise regularly
Avoid long hot showers/baths
Avoid if possible swimming pools and sea water as these can reduce the life of your tan.
THE LIFE OF YOUR TAN
Your tan will last between 6-10 days but will vary depending on your skin type.
